1. About

AdBlock Suite (hereinafter also the “Extension” or the “Services”) is a content filtering and ad blocking browser extension for Chrome (also available for Firefox and Safari as “Adblock for YoutubeTM”) which blocks all ads on YouTube and on any website. It allows users to prevent page elements, such as advertisements, from being displayed. Banners, Ad-Clips or even preroll ads you usually see before and during the actual video on YouTubeTM are blocked by this Extension. AdBlock Suite protects your privacy by preventing ad tracking and leads to faster loading of websites. It enables users to get comprehensive statistics and insights, kill unwanted elements on websites with one click, analyse and edit website elements, gain insights into elements loaded on each website and keep a detailed log of your browsing history and elements blocked, one click disabling of popups, large media elements, cosmetic filtering, remote fonts and JavaScript elements, keep filter lists up to date and add own custom filters, customize blocking settings and advanced display settings, hide placeholders for blocked elements, set own adblocking rules, temporary and permanent and to manage own list of trusted sites.

The technology is simply based on filter lists which block external ad URLs on websites and on YouTube. Any advertising detection happens on your computer, and we do not see or track it. We do not change anything on the website itself besides removing ads. But, for this purpose, it is necessary for the Extension, as with all common ad-blocking extensions, to have the permission to read and change all your data on websites in order to remove ads or popups. Of course, we use this permission only to provide our adblocking Services as described herein.

The premium version of AdBlock Suite includes a VPN software solution, provided by Nord VPN and distributed by us as a reseller for Nord VPN. This policy is only applicable to websites, software and services provided directly by us. Except as stated herein, this policy is not applicable to any third-party services we offer as a reseller as part of our Services, like currently VPN Nord. For Nord VPN the privacy policy is available under https://my.nordaccount.com/legal/privacy-policy/.Hence, we collect and process (personal) data
  1. when you visit our website https://www.adbs.io/,
  2. when you install and use AdBlock Suite and
  3. when you buy/subscribe to premium or other fee-based products and Services.
Our Services are aimed exclusively at persons who have completed their 18th year of age. Therefore, in principle, no data of persons under 18 years of age will be processed. If you suspect that data of persons under 18 years of age is being processed, please inform us.

4. Data processing in course of providing the extension

4.1 Information collected during the download/install process

When downloading the Extension, certain required information can be transmitted to the respective browser store selected by you (e.g. Chrome Web Store), which can include the ID of your account, the e-mail address, the time of the download or installation and the individual device identification number. This data is processed exclusively by the respective store and is beyond our control. You will therefore find more detailed information on this data processing in the privacy policy of the respective store operator. For Chrome Web Store the privacy policy is available here.

4.2 Information processed by using AdBlock Suite

4.2.1 Aggregated usage and location data
After installing AdBlock Suite, an individual ID is being assigned to each user. Only based on this ID we collect and process statistical, i.e. anonymized or non-personal data, including the number of users, the approximate location of users (maximum to city level) and which search engines were used (including the search terms used).
The location is derived from the user’s IP-Adress, which will be deleted 7 (seven) days after retrieving the location data (independent from the log file processing pursuant to section 3.1).
We look at the aggregated usage statistics to better understand where AdBlock Suite needs improvement and to monitor overall speed issues and error rates. We consider language and other local information to determine what possible localizations would be most useful to our users and to improve the Extension functionality in different geographics.
We only process non-personal data in this regard. Where personal data is being processed, e.g. the IP-Adress for a short period to derive the location, this data is generally processed on the basis of legitimate interests in accordance with Art 6 para 1 lit f) GDPR, namely, to gain insights about the usage of our Services, optimize the Services and to ensure security and stability, as well as to be able to identify and prosecute misuse.
If you want to opt out of the – although anonymized – AdBlock Suite browser Extension tracking, you can do so by unchecking the option in the settings popup of the Extension.

4.2.2 Dashboard data
To enable you to personalize AdBlock Suite, your personal settings in the dashboard, including personal settings, filter lists as well as personal filters and rules are being processed. This data is saved only within the Extension and not transmitted to us. In case of a premium subscription this data is also saved in your personal user account.
This data processing is necessary for the purpose of fulfilling the contract with you to provide the Services in accordance with Art 6 para 1 lit b) GDPR.
This data is processed as long as you have installed the Extension or – if applicable – as long as your user account is active.

4.2.3 Notifications
From time to time or in case of certain events, we will notify you of possibilities to upgrade your browsing and user experience, e.g. by using a VPN solution, and provide you special offers. Such notifications will be displayed directly in your browser as a banner or pop-up window.
To evaluate the effect, reasonableness and acceptance of such notifications and offers we use Google Analytics as explained in section 3.3 above.
By installing and using the Extension you consent to receiving such notices and the use of Google Analytics to the extent described above.

4.3 PermissionsThe Extension requires a certain number of permissions so you can enjoy its full potential. For security reasons we use the narrowest permissions available to still provide you the full functionality. These permissions are:
